ABOUT ME
Abelardo Ojeda is a Mexico City-based photographer and visual artist. His practice focuses on two core areas: executing precise commercial photography campaigns for international brands and building a long-term documentary archive that captures the shifting social and atmospheric landscape of Mexico's capital.
Grounded in his background as an art director and graphic designer, Ojeda’s street photography is heavily informed by the language of film, emphasizing scale, composition, and the narrative weight of a single frame. His extensive documentary archives—such as his seven-year project Tales from the Rain World—and his coverage of public demonstrations complement traditional news photojournalism by seeking out alternative angles that isolate the broader aesthetic of collective human experience and urban memory.
On the commercial front, Ojeda is commissioned by creative agencies and brands to bring his distinct authorial style to high-profile visual assets. His portfolio includes campaigns for Nintendo DS and Purina ProPlan Latin America (via agency Fallon Minneapolis), production still photography for Cheetos, and imagery licensed by Reebok Running for their apparel and footwear lines, alongside extensive international editorial and institutional features.
